Themis Apprentice Accountant James’ mission to support business through COVID-19

A regular day sees Themis Apprentice Accountant James Henderson raising invoices and looking at debts with the finance team at Pendle Borough Council.

However, since the outbreak of Covid-19 and the announcement of financial aid from the Government, James has seen his workload change drastically as he joins his colleagues supporting Pendle’s businesses secure financial grants so they can ride out the storm caused by the global pandemic and continue in business in future.

“It’s all hands on deck,” says James. “We are working with local businesses to navigate paperwork and checking their eligibility so we get the help to those who need it the most.  While we may not be saving lives, I feel like I’m doing my bit to keep our region in business and ultimately support the livelihoods of thousands of people across the borough.”
