This allows ambitious individuals – whatever their background – to grow into future leaders and professionals in their chosen areas; capable of adapting to change, embracing challenges and taking control of their own futures.

We also understand you may have questions about getting started with university-level study, including:

  • Which course is best for me to achieve my goals?
  • Do I have the qualifications needed to study for a degree?
  • What financial support is available to me as a university level student?
  • Do I have the skills needed to study at university level?
  • Can I continue to work and study at the same time?
  • Is there wellbeing support I can access to build my resilience?

At BCUC we work with you every step of the way to enable you to achieve your goals. You can be the master of your own destiny. This is where your journey starts.

Qualifications explained

Whatever stage you are at in your education journey, we will work with you to enable you to achieve your qualifications and secure your dream career. Whether you are returning to education after a break (of however long), need to study a GCSE alongside your Foundation Entry qualification, or you want to study a Top-Up programme to turn your Foundation Degree to a full BA/BSc (Hons) Degree we are here to help. Our guide will help to get you on the right path and explain the many different courses available here at Burnley College University Courses.

Qualifications Explained

Entry requirements

Your previous academic and professional qualifications (such as A Levels and Vocational qualifications) will count towards the entry criteria for your chosen University course. However, we understand that your industry experience and drive to make a difference to the lives of others are valuable, too. That is why we will also take into account your career achievements, your voluntary work and life experiences.

Use any of the following:

  • A Levels
  • An Advanced Vocational qualification (Level 3)
  • An Advanced Apprenticeship
  • An Access to Higher Education qualification
  • GCSE’s or O Levels
  • Your experience in a career
  • Your life experience

You will also need a Maths and English qualification.
