STILL Number 1! Burnley College top of the table in England

Burnley College continues its reign at the top as government tables officially declare it’s still the Number 1 College in England.

With a host of record-breaking results, multiple prestigious awards and intensive continued investment in leading edge, industry relevant learning resources announced, it’s been an incredible year for the college which provides A Levels, Apprenticeships, T Levels, Vocational Qualifications and Further Education all the way up to degree level.

This year’s results saw:

• 85% of A Level students achieve at least one high A*-C grade
• 60% of A Level students achieve at least one top A*-B grade and
• 30% of A Level students achieve at least one exceptional A* or A grade.

It also saw the number of outstanding A* and A grades more than double since the last time formal exams had been held in 2019, in a myriad of subjects including Further Mathematics, English Literature, Computer Science, Media Studies, Film Studies, Classical Civilisation, Physical Education and Art and Design.

In Vocational Qualifications the College also saw a 100% pass rate for the 19th consecutive year. Themis, the Apprenticeship arm of the College also received the prestigious UK Apprenticeship Provider of the Year Award at the Educate North Awards for its exceptional training record.

The Government analyses results and progression rates across the whole of England so students have the opportunity to see which colleges are ahead of the rest – Burnley College secured its top position again finishing a clear percentage point above second place.

The College is planning a whole year of celebrations from a brand-new design for the front of the iconic building to a campaign to share the amazing news as well as a few extra-special surprises which the people of Burnley and the surrounding towns should keep their eyes peeled for.

It’s also going to be a year of campus development for the College too with building starting on its impressive North Campus development which will ultimately see new buildings, a new sports pitch and breath-taking landscaping, increasing the outstanding College provision to both students and local businesses.
