Nathaniel Nuttall, from Burnley, who studied Maths, English, Science and IT qualifications as an Adult Learner at Burnley College said:
“I found studying as an Adult Learner at Burnley College so different to when I was at school: the Tutors were amazing and really made the subjects accessible and memorable! It helped me to change career – I was a baker for more than 20 years but my studies helped me to secure a role at Preston Royal Infirmary’s Pharmaceuticals Department as an Assistant Technical Officer, making bespoke medications.”
Kimberley Gorton, from Burnley, who studied for a Foundation Degree in Children, Young People and Their Services on route to post-graduate study and her career dream of becoming a university lecturer, said:
“The support from Lecturers at Burnley College University Courses was fantastic – and the location close to home made it easier to juggle my family and degree study commitments, too. My Lecturers really helped me every step of the way and were always available to offer academic advice and guidance. The Student Services team helped me to sort out my Student Finance and I received a Burnley Bursary which helped me to buy a laptop for my studies.”
