Burnley College’s unrivalled workshops to host national competition to find UK’s best young electrician

The best Apprentices and learners on Vocational Electrical Installation programmes nationwide will battle it out at Burnley College this summer for a place in the finals of a prestigious UK competition.

SkillELECTRIC 2022 is being held in June in the College’s acclaimed, industry-standard Construction and Future Technologies Centre. The event is organised by National Electrotechnical Training, with regional winners progressing to compete nationally for a chance to represent then UK in the WorldSkills contest in France in 2024.

The competition will be a highlight of our Year of the Themis Apprentice where we’re celebrating everything that makes Themis (the Apprenticeship training arm of Burnley College) the best place to launch, enhance or even change your pathway to your dream career.

Themis has an incredible history of success in the WorldSkills competitions, with Tyler Atkinson, a construction metalworker at WEC Ltd, Darwen, representing the UK at the prestigious contest which was last held in Russia and fellow apprentice and colleague Kieran McShane also selected to represent the national team in the next contest.
