“Shaping the future of industry” – Themis Apprentice Nominated for Finals of Prestigious National Awards

A Themis at Burnley College Mechatronics Apprentice has been nominated for a prestigious national award for “Shaping the future of our industries” through her innovative approach to training.

Bethany Cobb, an Advanced Apprentice in Mechatronics, employed by The Senator Group has seen off hundreds of competitors to secure a place in the final of The Enginuity Skills Awards 2022.

Bethany has been nominated in the Skills Innovation of the Year Award which is specifically targeted to reward those who are trailblazers in their approach to work.

The Enginuity Awards celebrate the new generation of talented, driven, passionate and committed Apprentices across the UK who are “shaping the future”.

Bethany, who shows “intense passion and excitement for engineering” in the workplace has been invited to the glamorous ceremony which takes place in London in March.

The Senator Group, one of Europe’s most innovative and forward-thinking furniture designers and manufacturers are passionate advocates for Apprenticeships and have worked closely with Themis for a number of years.

Mechatronics is the discipline of integrating electronic and mechanical engineering and includes everything from factory automation to robotics.

Bethany has played a key role in helping The Senator Group roll out its vision for the future and helped install six brand new state-of-the-art robots on site.

She is no stranger to awards having won several during her Apprenticeship with Themis, including the Absolute Apprentice Award – Gold in 2020.
