Outstanding Results – Adult Learners at Burnley College get 100% in Maths and English
Adult Learners at Burnley College are celebrating after achieving an exceptional set of results.
100% of Adult Learners studying Mathematics and English passed their exams in 2022 – all achieving grades between 9 and 4.
It marks an amazing end to a fantastic academic year for the College. Earlier in the year inspectors rated Burnley College’s Adult Learning provision “Outstanding.”
The College also achieved record breaking results in A Levels with double the number of A* and A grades achieved since the last time formal exams were held in 2019.
And for the 19th consecutive year the College achieved a 100% pass rate in its vocational courses.
Lynne Hardy, a mother of one from Burnley was one of the Adult Learners collecting her GCSE Mathematics and English results:
“I’m absolutely delighted. I can’t believe it. I spent the whole night worried I’d failed.
“To find out I’ve passed both – and I even beat my daughter’s English result!”
Lynne says she returned to education so she could gain confidence.
“I’d say to anyone who’s thinking about going back into education, for whatever reason, just go for it. I did and it’s given me the confidence and courage to do so many things I never would’ve done before.”
