‘Other Colleges just don’t do this…’ – inspectors praise Burnley College’s ‘highly impressive’ Student Services team
Burnley College’s Student Services team has been praised for its exceptional performance and doing the things “other colleges just don’t do” in its latest assessment by national inspectors.
The Matrix Standard is a quality framework used to assess individuals and bodies who give “information, advice and guidance” and recognises knowledge, passion and performance.
Matrix Standard inspectors rated Burnley College’s friendly and approachable Student Services team as “Highly impressive” and singled out multiple strengths, including:
• How students are empowered to make informed decisions on their future
• The range and quality of Extra Curricular activities
• The regular Atrium-based activities, with inspectors saying: “We’ve never seen anything like it. Other colleges just don’t do that.”
• The high quality of advice and guidance offered
• The College’s commitment to widening access and participation
• The use of real-life student experience to inform services.
The College was further praised for providing a fully-rounded experience for students who also offered “exclusively positive” feedback to inspectors
