Next Stop, The Number 1 College in England! Hyndburn Students Get Bespoke Bus to Burnley College

Students from Burnley College will have their journey times reduced as a brand new bus service is launched this September.

Burnley College, the Number 1 College in England*, has been working closely with its partners at Transdev to make the journey from Hyndburn even easier.

The bus, which starts its journey at 8:05am at Rising Bridge is free to all Students when they show their Burnley College Student ID.

It follows the introduction of a free Student bus from Blackburn and Darwen being introduced last year to great success alongside free services from Barnoldswick and Clitheroe.

Student Liaison Team Leader Grace Warburton works closely with school pupils and says transport is so important to them:

Over the past few years it has become more and more apparent just how many pupils want to choose Burnley College when they leave school.
However, there isn’t always a safe and convenient way they can travel here, so at Burnley College we made it our mission to work as hard as we can with Transdev to introduce new services for pupils to get to and from college to follow their career dreams.

“It benefits so many people. It takes the pressure off parents who may not have the time to travel to Burnley and then head to their place of work.

“Some Students were having to take multiple buses which brings its own time and cost implications.

“Now we have introduced a quick, convenient and free way for the people of Hyndburn and the other places on route to get to the Number 1 College in England in comfort.

“It’s also great opportunity to listen to music, podcasts or even get ahead of the game with some of your work.”

The bus leaves Rising Bridge MacDonalds at 8:05am, traveling via
