New Adult Learning Courses Launched

There’s an Adult Learning course to suit your ambition or passion at Burnley College: and we’ll support you every step of the way.

Burnley College is offering a range of expert-led, career-focussed Adult Learning Courses in September – from construction basics to understanding children’s mental health.

There’s a whole host of funding options available too from Free Courses for Jobs which could see you paying nothing to schemes including Advanced Learner Loans, which are written off if you progress to successful completion of a university course.

It’s an opportunity to boost your existing skills, push for promotion at work, start afresh with a brand new career or even use your new qualification to help you study at University level.

New courses for 2022/23 include:

  • Basic Construction Skills: Bathroom Fitting Essentials (Evenings, 3 hours per week)
  • Basic Construction Skills: Kitchen Fitting Essentials (Evenings, 3 hours per week)
  • Understanding Autism
  • Understanding Children & Young People’s Mental Health

Based in our £115 million Campus at the heart of Burnley, Adult Learning at Burnley College has an established reputation as a centre of industry expertise, with approachable Tutors renowned for their ability to combine their industry expertise and academic excellence.

We also ensure that our courses are as made as convenient to you and your lifestyle as possible – with many taking place in the evenings and over a period of weeks – allowing you to continue to live your life while pushing for progress.

With the very best academic and student support available, now you can make the first step to an exciting new career; university-level study; promotion or a great new hobby.

Neil Burrows, Burnley College Assistant Principal with responsibility for Adult Learning, says:

“I speak to so many Adult Learners and they always have a different story about why they’ve returned to education. Often it’s about taking that next step and making a leap forward in their career. Sometimes it’s about reskilling and returning to a new type of work. Sometimes it’s just for the love of learning and to prove they can do it.

Neil Burrows

Assistant Principal

“There’s no right or wrong reason – it’s a personal choice, but it’s always the right choice.

“Whatever your reason, now is the right time to act and take advantage of the wide range of funding options now available.”

Burnley College offers an unrivalled range of Adult Learning courses for those aged 19 and over, including Maths and English, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), Modern Languages and hobby courses, as well as a range of additional professional development qualifications.
