Mind, Body and Business – Get Fit for the Future with Burnley Business Week and the Number 1 College in England
Burnley College and its on-site sports and fitness centre, Fitness Evolution, are helping business leaders shape up their business and their brains as part of Burnley Business Week.
The week-long series of events, back again for another year, showcases a diverse range of workshops, seminars and consultations, free of charge, to the business community of East Lancashire.
At Burnley College we’re committed to highlighting the crucial role of physical and mental well-being in workplace productivity and business success, as well as the importance of embracing net zero technologies..
This year, we’re excited to present three exclusive activities — the Fitness MOT in association with Fitness Evolution, a Mental Health Awareness delivered by Burnley College and an Implementing Net Zero and Renewable Energy Technology session delivered by the Burnley Borough Council Low Carbon Team and Burnley College.
The Fitness MOT is our unique approach to corporate wellness, offering attendees the chance to evaluate their fitness levels with Fitness Evolution’s cutting-edge Boditrax Machine and receive expert advice on enhancing health and productivity.
Ash Alderson, Manager at Fitness Evolution, says a health workforce is a more effective workforce:
Physical fitness and productivity go hand in hand. It isn’t just about reducing sickness in your workforce. Studies show regular exercise also helps with focus and creativity.
We have an amazing range of tools to assess your levels of fitness and our team of experts will be on hand to help you discover how you can work to improve in every area.
“Professional sportspeople already know about or cutting-edge strength and conditioning gym and recovery spa. Now it’s time we show local businesses how they can lift their workforce to another league.”
The Mental Health Awareness sessions are designed to emphasise the significance of mental health in the business environment. Participants will acquire vital resources and knowledge to bolster mental health support, fostering a culture of open conversation, empathy and mutual support in their workplaces.
The Net Zero course, led by Low Carbon Team, will inform attendees on the concept of net zero, its significance and the process of developing carbon reduction plans. Additionally, Burnley College will be offering up its expertise into Renewable Energy Technologies such as battery storage systems, electric vehicle charging points, solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and ground & air source heat pumps.
