Cryotherapy and Environment Chambers, Elite gym and spa unveiled in Burnley College’s £6.5 million sports expansion

The future of Sport and Fitness education and training in Lancashire is being transformed with the launch of a brand new £6.5 million development at Burnley College.

Evolution Spa & Performance Centre is the new industry-leading, cutting-edge facility at Fitness Evolution – the award-winning on-site gym and fitness centre at Burnley College.

It sees Students, Trainers and the community given access to the very latest in Sport and Fitness technology, including:

  • Cryotherapy suite (reaching minus 90 degrees)
  • Environmental chamber (controlling humidity, altitude, temperature and oxygen levels)
  • Hydrotherapy suite (including Jacuzzi, plunge pool, sauna and steam room)
  • High performance gym
  • Treatment centre
  • Dance studio

The new facilities will be used by the College’s Elite Athletes, as well as visiting professional athletes and sports teams, as well as students on Sport and Fitness courses who will have access to the very latest, cutting-edge facilities and equipment.

The facilities received a seal of approval from MP for Burnley Antony Higginbotham ahead of the grand opening to the public.
