About the course

This course allows you to develop your knowledge of causes and spread of infection, the importance of hygiene and health in the prevention and control of infection and principles of decontamination and waste management in healthcare settings.

Modules

Unit 1 – Principles of the Causes and Spread of Infection in Health Care Settings
Unit 2 – Principles of the Importance of Personal Hygiene and Health in the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings
Unit 3 – Principles of Decontamination, Cleaning and Waste Management in Health Care Settings
Unit 4 – Principles of Infection Prevention and Control in a Health Care Setting

Assessment

On this course you will be assessed regularly and will complete knowledge questions to demonstrate your acquired knowledge and skills. For each unit a set of knowledge questions are issued as the formal assessment for that unit. You complete this through the online learning platform and receive written feedback from our expert tutor. There is the option to complete this paper based should it be required. You will need to pass all units and ensure your answers to the questions meet the required assessment criteria.
