About the course
The course includes vocational units which are specific to Sports sector and are designed to give you intermediate knowledge of the various sectors including Sports, Coaching, Health and Nutrition and Fitness. Your studies will help you develop your self-confidence and wider knowledge of the Sports sector ready for work experience, learning sector specific skills such as practical sport and fitness testing, injury in sport and anatomy and physiology.

Entry Requirements
A minimum of two GCSEs at grade 5 or above including English Language OR a relevant Level 1 Diploma and GCSE grade 5 in English Language
Modules
The one year programme includes 7 intermediate units including Practical Sport, Anatomy and Physiology, Fitness Testing, Nutrition, Injury in Sport, Planning and Leading Sports Activities and Psychology
Assessment
The vocational diploma is assessed via coursework where you will create a portfolio of evidence to show your practical application of the units.
Careers & Progression
Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports and Exercise Science and Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity. Students also have the opportunity to progress onto Apprenticeship programmes or into the industry.

Students will need appropriate sports wear which can be purchased from College on enrolment.
Extra curricular activities
There are plenty of activities and visits to take part in that will help you achieve your ambitions including visits to St George's Park Centre for Football, Wigan Warriors, National Football Museum and opportunities to be involved in overseas trips to Club La Santa in Lanzarote (warm weather training), Gothia World Youth Cup Football Tournament in Sweden and European ski trip.
