Colleges around the UK sign up to follow Fitness Evolution – after Themis at Burnley College Apprentice addresses prestigious conference
An Apprentice at Burnley’s multi-million-pound Strength and Conditioning facility, Fitness Evolution, has inspired colleges around the UK to sign up and find out more about how they’re so successful collaborating with the local community after taking part in a prestigious conference.
Themis Apprentice Caitlin Iannelli joined Ashley Alderson, Manager of the multi-million-pound strength and conditioning centre, high-tech gym and luxurious spa based onsite at its educational partner Burnley College, to share their vision of employer engagement at the AoC Sport Conference.
Caitlin, 19, from Todmorden, is studying Personal Training and showcased the Les Mills Mountain training she’s now qualified to teach after the College signed an industry-leading deal with the fitness giants.
It follows a year of unrivalled expansion and exciting new partnerships at the Princess Way site.
As well as opening its new £4 million expansion and signing the deal with global fitness experts Les Mills, they also teamed up with Burnley Football Club to revolutionise women’s football at the club.
So impressed have other colleges been with the results – six have now signed up to follow Fitness Evolution’s lead and have requested “best practice” visits from the College to show how they forge such strong relationships in the community and business worlds.
Ashley says delivering training like this on the highest level is just part of what makes Fitness Evolution so special:
“We knew we were leading the way when we signed up with Les Mills – and now we’re seeing the same course being rolled out at more colleges around the UK. Where we lead, others follow.”
“What we really wanted to share at the AoC Conference and what we feel is the most important part of what we do is ensuring we stay true to our core strategy – and that is keeping the community at the heart of everything we do.
“Engaging with everyone from schools to businesses and the community as a whole is vital in creating the perfect educational environment which will see Students and partners thrive.
“We’re focused on growing our educational offering both internally and externally – delivery to primary and high schools – inviting them in for experience days without charge.
“We also expand beyond education, linking with businesses both large and small in the area – ensuring they understand everything we can offer to help their business develop and grow.
“Now we have multiple pathways offering our Students a route into the professional fitness industry and unrivalled connections with some of the biggest names in sport and fitness in the UK and worldwide.”
It’s been an incredible year for Fitness Evolution at Burnley College, opening its new extension which included the latest health and fitness technologies: a state-of-the-art Strength and Conditioning gym, a thermal performance spa, an environmental chamber, cryotherapy suite, plunge pool and more.
