The Trainers were very knowledgeable and created a friendly work and learning environment where you could have a laugh while making progress towards your goals.

Chris Green forged a new career which fits in with his family commitments after reskilling as an Adult Learner at the Themis Skills Academy.

The dad-of-three is enjoying a successful career in manufacturing and fork lift truck operation at FloControl, a thriving Burnley manufacturing firm which has clients all over the world, and enjoys precious time with his family

After leaving school in 2002, Chris enjoyed careers as a baker, a care assistant and in sales, however constant shift work and weekend duties left him little time with his family – so he made the decision to reskill and launch a career which suited him.

After consulting with careers advisors, Chris enrolled  on the Manufacturing, Warehousing and Fork Lift course at Themis Skills Academy and hasn’t looked back since, growing in confidence, skills and knowledge, including vital Health and Safety legislation.

Chris completed his training as the UK went into Covid lockdown, however, was immediately able to secure a full-time permanent position with FloControl, who work closely with the Themis Skills Academy and provide real-life projects for trainees to work on.

FloControl is a fantastic place to work, in fact the best place I’ve worked at. The business seems to grow, it is busy, with new work coming in.
