Burnley College learner addresses top-level conference in USA
Congratulations to Burnley College Project Search learner Tegan Mulby!
Tegan has been speaking to delegates from the USA online – sharing her experience of being an intern as part of the amazing Project Search initiative which supports learners with additional needs in meaningful internships at a variety of employers.
Tegan has now graduated from the scheme and moved into employment at the Positive Footprints Network, a Burnley-based company dedicated to raising the aspirations of children and young people.
Tegan took to Teams to share her experiences at the high-level conference taking place in Baltimore. She wanted to encourage American tutors and job coaches to raise aspirations in their own interns.
Programme Specialist at Project Search Sian Foster says:
“Tegan and the team did a wonderful presentation at the Baltimore Project Search conference today.
“We had more than 100 attendees made up of leaders from across the USA and even from Iceland, Canada and Hawaii.”
“I have only just left after a queue of people who wanted to know more about this fantastic work and this standout partnership.”
Well done, Tegan, and we wish you every success in your future career.
