Fitness Evolution hosting trials to find Burnley FC’s next women’s football star
Are you the next Rachel Brown-Finnis?
The call is going out across Burnley and beyond to find the future stars of women’s football as trials take place to join BFC Women at Burnley College this weekend.
Sign up here and show your soccer skills on Saturday 16 July.
The trials, which continue at Burnley FC’s training ground on Sunday, are taking place after the club and Fitness Evolution, Burnley College’s strength and conditioning training partner and onsite gym and spa joined forces earlier this year to create an exclusive Elite Educational Pathway – designed to give passionate young players a route toward becoming professional.
The Clarets women, who compete in the third tier of the women’s football pyramid, have an ambitious target of reaching the Women’s Super League (WSL) in the next three years with Fitness Evolution’s help.
Fitness Evolution, based on the College’s £110 million town-centre campus, will now be the team’s home training complex.
The industry-leading facility has recently seen a £2.5 million expansion, filled with cutting-edge training technology including a cryogenic chamber which drops the temperature to -80 Celsius to promote swift recovery and an environmental chamber where humidity, altitude and temperature can all be controlled to simulate training at the top of Everest or in the deepest rainforest.
The Club recently appointed Jonathan Morgan, a manager with an exceptional track record at Leicester City Women, who under his leadership guided The Foxes to the WSL in 2021.
He joined star striker Loulou Morgan and Radio Lancashire on our 3g pitches this week to promote the pathway and the trials.
