Advanced AAT Accountancy

BC_Quotation

Working in a small business has given me an opportunity to work in all different departments, this helped me to choose the career path I really wanted.

Francesca is an Advanced AAT Accountancy Apprentice at a successful Burnley manufacturing business – and has her sights set on becoming a CIMA-qualified management accountant.

A former A* pupil at St Augustine’s RC High School, she embarked on an Intermediate Level Business Apprenticeship at FloControl, where her experience of working in different administrative roles led to her love of Accountancy.

Francesca’s role includes issuing sales invoices, processing purchase invoices and banking and she’s also been additional responsibility for purchasing the stock for the business, which involves raising purchase orders, chasing suppliers and ensuring stock arrives (in full) at the right time.

Francesca attends College one day a week for training and her Trainer Assessor visits her in the workplace every eight to 12 weeks to discuss her training targets and go through evidence of her achievements that she has collated.

“A Themis Apprenticeship works for me because I’m gaining the experience I would be missing out on if I had chosen to go to University, plus the skills and knowledge I’m gaining during my time in College is more understandable and meaningful as I can apply it in the workplace.
