About the course
The broad purpose of the occupation is working with wood-based materials and associated products to create and install building components. This typically involves shaping and cutting materials, installing finished materials like partitions, doors, staircases, window frames, mouldings, timber floor coverings and erecting structural components such as floor joists and roofs. All work needs to be carried out safely, using the appropriate tools and to the quality specified. |

Entry Requirements
Candidates must hold GCSE grade 4's or above in English and Math's. Individual circumstances maybe considered.
Assessment
Apprentices will complete a 24 months practical training period followed by a end point assessment (EPA). Which consists of the following; 7 hour Practical Assessment, Online Multiple Choice theory Exam, 45 minute Interview/ Professional discussion based on their portfolio.
Careers & Progression
Candidates may progress on to the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery
