What qualifications do I need to be a Themis Apprentice?

All Apprenticeships are different and have varying entry requirements. Additionally, all Apprentices are required by law to complete English and Maths qualifications by the time they complete their Apprenticeship programme. To talk about specific qualifications for the industry you are interested in, call Themis on 01282 733005 or email [email protected].

How do I apply for a course or courses at Burnley College Sixth Form Centre?

Completing your application is simple. The easiest way is to use the “Course Search” function at the top of this page, find the course you’re interested in, click “Apply” and follow the instructions.

You can also come and apply in person or at an Open Evening, which take place from September all the way through until February.


How long is an Apprenticeship?

The length of an Apprenticeship varies according to the level you enter at, your qualification level on completion and the industry you are in, but they generally vary between one year and four years. The average Apprenticeships usually takes place over 18 months.  


Can I approach companies if I want to start an Apprenticeship?

Yes! Employers appreciate being approached directly by potential Apprentices as it shows confidence, a positive attitude and drive. The Themis team will continue to match you with suitable roles with employers while you approach employers directly, giving you double the chance of finding an ideal role.

Our Themis Tutors and Trainers are leaders in their chosen fields and can apply their industry experience to your learning, making classes and practical workshop sessions come to life. They have years of experience in their chosen sectors and know their industries inside out. They have the practical, hands-on expertise that sets them apart, plus the drive to see you succeed and reach your goals.

Our Themis Trainers:

Will visit you in the workplace to assess your work; ensure you are on track to complete your Apprenticeship; answer any queries you may have and liaise with your Employer.

Are always on hand to answer your queries regarding Apprenticeships and can call upon their vast knowledge of industry; contacts with leading local Employers and experience of the employment market to assist you in finding the perfect Apprenticeship.

Progress to university-level qualifications as a Themis Apprentice

Taking the Themis Apprenticeship route to career success does not mean you have to give up on your dream of degree-level study. At BCUC (Burnley College University Courses) you can make a seamless transition from your Advanced Apprenticeship studies to Higher Level Apprenticeship programmes and a Degree Apprenticeship. Your Apprenticeship qualification will also open the door to university-level study outside an Apprenticeship programme, opening the door to additional career routes and opportunities through HNC, HND, BA (Hons), BSc (Hons), BEng and post-graduate qualifications
