You will work on the planning and development of specific components in each craft area, culminating in the assembly of your final project piece. This course will allow you to immerse yourself into the world of construction and building services, whilst allowing you to experience a range of activities exactly like those you’d encounter working in this exciting industry sector.

As part of the Creative Media Programme, you will create a mini-portfolio of media work. You will film on location and edit your video footage. You will create photographs in the studio using different lighting techniques. These images will be edited and using graphic design techniques you will create digital posters with them.

In this 8 week course you will take part in acting, singing and dance technique classes to develop your skills in preparation for creating work to be performed at our Annual Musical Theatre Showcase. You will develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours in preparation for study on a Dance or Performing Arts Course at Burnley College. You will work as a company to create and develop the material with our outstanding lecturers in Performing Arts. On your final week, you will take part in technical and dress rehearsals for your performance in our outstanding industry standard Performance Theatre. You will then have the exciting opportunity to perform as the curtain raiser for our Musical Theatre Showcase and have the opportunity to watch the rest of the show where our Level 2 to Degree learners will perform.

This short course introduces the use of music production software to explore creative ideas. You will have the opportunity to explore the use of different tools to realise your own creative ideas – this could be using an Apple Mac based DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) or the college recording studio. This programme is predominantly music technology based therefore it isn’t imperative that you have instrumental skills or a background in music. However, previous musical experience and knowledge will be advantageous.
