About the course
You will complete the NCFE Certificate in Occupational Studies for the Workplace which includes vocational units which are designed to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for your chosen progression. Your programme of study will help you develop your self-confidence and other employability skills such as problem solving, creativity, communication, presentation and confidence and is designed to get you ready for your next steps. The course will be taught in small class sizes to assist you with your learning. As it is important to prepare for your future progression and employment, you will complete either GCSE resit for English and/or maths (if you have achieved grade 3 in GCSE from school) or Functional skills in English and/or maths (if you have achieved grade 2 or below).

Entry Requirements
The entry requirements for this course are 2 GCSEs at Grade 2. You will be interviewed and assessed to make sure this is the appropriate course for you.
Assessment
You will be assessed on a regular basis during your time in college and you will receive regular feedback on the progress you are making for both your vocational qualification and maths and English if applicable. You will complete assignments for each unit which will be internally assessed by your tutors and will build up a portfolio of evidence. You will complete assessments for reading, writing and speaking and listening for your functional skills English qualification and an assessment for your maths qualification or complete a formal exam for GCSE.
Careers & Progression
On successful completion of this course you may progress to a Level 1 Computing, Business or Esports course or any other Level 1 course which may be of interest.
