Week 1: Foundations of Automation

Week 2: PLC Programming Basics

Session 4 (Thursday): Advanced PLC Programming (3 hours)

Week 3: Sensors and Actuators

  • Types of sensors and their applications

Session 6 (Thursday): Actuators and Integration (3 hours)

  • Types of actuators and their role in automation
  • Practical integration of actuators
  • Hands-on exercises with actuator control

Week 4: System Integration and Real-World Applications

Session 7 (Tuesday): System Integration (3 hours)

  • Building a complete automation system
  • Communication protocols and networking in automation
  • Troubleshooting common automation issues

Session 8 (Thursday): Real-World Applications and Project Showcase (3 hours)

  • Case studies and examples from various industries
  • Group projects: Design, program, and test an automated system using the Festo CP Lab
