About the course

If you are a practical and creative person this apprenticeship could offer you the perfect beginning to a life-long career in furniture manufacturing. Attention to detail and an eye for quality are essential requirements within an industry serving both domestic, commercial and office based environments. You will be employed by a company and attend Themis at Burnley College one day per week*.You will be taught in Themis’ industry standard workshops equipped with an extensive range of tools and equipment. Our furniture and upholstery trainers have extensive knowledge and industrial experience.

Candidates will select a chosen pathway dependant on their employers area of work;

• General Furniture Manufacturer
• Modern Upholsterer.
• Fitted Furniture Installer- Kitchens, bedrooms etc
• Wood Machinist.
• Furniture CNC Technician

Entry Requirements

A minimum of two GCSEs at Grade 4 or above in Math's and English. Applicants who do not meet the exact entry requirements may also be considered.

Assessment

Candidates will complete a 24 month practical training period followed by a End Point Assessment (EPA). This consists of; Health and Safety Exam, Industry Specific Exam, Practical assessment, Interview/Professional Discussion
