About the course
This T Level is a two-year, Level 3 qualification designed for students aged 16-19 who want to pursue a career in software development. It offers a practical, industry-focused alternative to A Levels, combining classroom learning with a minimum 315-hour industry placement to provide you with real experience in the workplace. Developed in collaboration with employers, the course equips you with the essential knowledge and skills the digital industry needs. You will study core topics including problem-solving, programming fundamentals, business context, data, digital environments, and security. You will then specialise in Digital Software Development, learning to analyse problems, design solutions, and implement, test, and maintain software in a collaborative environment. This T Level provides the threshold competence needed to progress into highly skilled employment, a higher-level apprenticeship, or university.
