About the course
This Top up Degree is aimed at candidates wishing to further their education previously completed to achieve a L6 Degree.
Candidates should hold a L5 HND in Engineering or similar. This will be discussed on an individual basis.
The course will enhance skills and ability to apply engineering principles and problem solving skills in real world engineering contexts.
Product design and development skills and knowledge will be enhanced in addition to personal, and professional development. The course will equip candidates with the necessary skills and expertise required to design. anylse and optimise product design and development systems. The course aims to develop critical understanding and leadership of professional ethics, social and cultural values in engineering contexts in developing products and services in an ever evolving environment.

Entry Requirements
This Level 6 programme is offered as a Top Up qualification for students who have completed a HND, FdA or other equivalent qualification in a relevant subject and who wish to progress further to achieve an Honours degree.

Personal Development Planning (PDP) is a key aspect of the courses at Burnley College. PDP is integrated within all modules across the course. PDP helps to define and focus student’s educational and professional aims and goals; it will assist students to consider how they can engage with the learning opportunities the course offers to achieve personal career and professional objectives.

Basic equipment for note taking and document storage. Laptop recommended but not essential. Burnley college can provide laptops for use whilst in the building.
