About the course
This course is designed for those with career aspirations for being innovative sports leaders. This CIMPSPA-accredited qualification will develop the confidence to lead through developing coaching skills, and knowledge methods and theory through regular industry experience through coaching peers, local schools and running sporting events and competitions for the local community. Those who complete this course will be able to follow career in sports coaching, activity leadership, sports development and PE Teaching.

Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs at Grade 5 or above including English and Mathematics or a relevant Level 2 qualification.
Grade 6 in PE or a Grade 6 in Science. Applicants must compete or perform in at least one team sport or physical activity at club or school level.

The course 100% internally assessed coursework, through a mixture of theory-based reports, practical application, presentation, coaching assessments with real life participants and review of your own performance.
Careers & Progression
This course allows you to progress into further studies at University or a Level 4 Apprenticeship, leading to careers as Coach (Community through to Performance), PE Teacher (Primary & Secondary education), Performance Analyst, and Sports Development Office.

Enrichment Activities
Take part in weekly practical sporting activity, join the differing Burnley College Sports Academies , regular industry guest speakers and visits to the English Institute of Sport, Manchester Velodrome, Rock and River Outdoor Educational Centre, Chill Factore in Manchester and annual trip to Sweden to take part in the Gothia World Youth Cup Tournament, and Club La Santa in Lanzarote for a warm weather training camp.
