About the course

This specialist two-day course has been designed as an introduction to using Sage Payroll software, taking the mystery out of Accountancy. The course will enable you to get to grips and acquire the skills associated with the basic principles of setting up Accounting and Book Keeping. These skills can be transferable and be and this course will help you learn to accurately manage your customer and suppliers details, process invoices, sales, deal with petty cash and bank payments, process weekly and monthly payroll runs, how to produce pay slips, carry out RTI submissions reconciliations, produce financial reports and manage the businesses VAT record processes. All this knowledge and skills will be gained through practical activities , step by step learning and the creation of a portfolio.

Assessment

There are no prerequisites to study this course however for the best chance of success we recommend that all individuals begin their studies with a good of English and IT skills. No formal assessments will take place, assessment will be in the form of a portfolio being created to clearly demonstrate skills and knowledge within this field. Our qualified Industry Trained Lecturers will assess all portfolio work submitted with formal feedback evidencing achievement against SAGE Payroll standards. The course has no formal assessment in place however your knowledge, skills and achievement will be documented within a portfolio of work and a Burnley College certificate.

Careers & Progression

On successful completion of this course you may progress to Foundation, Advanced then Professional AAT qualifications. You will have the opportunity to progress onto Degree courses. Careers that this course may lead to include Pay Roll Clerk, Finance Assistant and Managerial positions.
