About the course
Have you got what it takes to inspire, nurture and excite young minds through their crucial stage of Early Years development? If so, this Advanced Apprenticeship is for you. As an Early Years Educator you will be supporting children’s development through the Early Years Foundation Stages and beyond, for children from 0-8 years old. There will be opportunities to further develop your skills and knowledge, including your effective communication skills when working with children and young people. You will apply your knowledge about child and young persons’ development and support children who may have special educational needs and/or disabilities. You will reflect upon your own and team practice whilst working in Early Years settings and support the team’s development. An in-depth knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures and the implementation of these will be gained.

Entry requirements
A minimum of five GCSEs at Grade 5 or above in a good range of subjects including GCSE English Language, Mathematics and Science. Ideally, applicants may have also completed an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Early Years Practitioner. Applicants must be hardworking, reliable and motivated. As part of the interview process, Apprentices will undertake a BKSB assessment in English, Mathematics and ICT. Applicants who do not meet the exact entry requirements but hold relevant industry experience are encouraged to apply. Applicants who do not meet the exact entry requirements may also be considered.
Assessment
Your Trainer Assessor will directly observe your competency working with young children in the workplace. You will also complete a portfolio of evidence and complete level 4 assignments.
Careers & Progression
On successful completion of this Apprenticeship you may progress to a university course, including the Foundation Degree in Children Young People and their Services, and the BA (Hons) in Children, Schools and Families. Careers that this course may lead to include Nursery Practitioner, Room Supervisor and management roles.
