About the course
Within this course you will work with others, generate ideas and prepare performing arts work by exploring a range of acting skills, dance skills, singing and performance skills and stage design. You will learn about the performing arts industry, job roles and career development to give you all the skills you require to progress onto the Level 2 Diploma in Performing Arts. You will take part in numerous performances throughout the year including musicals, dance showcases, dramas and community projects. Throughout the course you will also work on developing your study skills, including Maths and English.

Two GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English OR a relevant Foundation Learning qualification including GCSE grade 3 in English. There may also be an additional assessment.
Assessment is via coursework.
Careers & Progression
On successful completion of this course you may decide to progress onto the Level 2 Diploma in Performing Arts, an Apprenticeship and then a Higher/Degree Apprenticeship. You will also have the opportunity to progress onto a wide variety of Degree courses. Careers that this course may lead to include Actor, Stage Designer, Musician, Singer and Theatre Technician.

Past visits have included: • Theatre trips to London's West End • Community projects • Touring local theatre companies You will also benefit from a wide range of guest speakers to enrich the curriculum.
