About the course

This course offers a foundation in all aspects of the Care Sector and is designed to give you the basic knowledge across childcare, health and social development roles. Your studies will help you develop your self-confidence and wider knowledge of the Care Sector ready for your academic progression to Level 1 Diploma in Vocational Studies (Health and Child Studies)

Entry Requirements

A minimum of 2 GCSEs. All applicants will be interviewed an assessed to ensure that this is the appropriate course for them.

Assessment

The vocational diploma is assessed via coursework where you will create a portfolio of evidence. Maths and English will be assessed via an exam either for Functional Skills or GCSE

Careers & Progression

On successful completion of this course you may progress to a Level 1 Diploma in Vocation Studies (health and Child Studies). When you have completed your studies other courses that are available include an Apprenticeship or a Level 2 Diploma Health and Social Care. Careers that this course may lead to include child care nursery nurse, teaching assistant, community nurse in health and social care or care assistant.
