About the course

This 10 day comprehensive training course will give you the skills and knowledge to undertake single phase wiring and testing work in line with industry and health and safety regulations. This course is ideal for Mechanical Maintenance, Fitters, Technicians, Engineers, and/or Supervisors who need to be able to develop their electrical competences. By the end of the programme participants will be able to: • Work safely on electrical equipment under appropriate supervision. • Isolate electrical circuits and carry out basic electrical tasks. THE PROGRAMME WILL COVER: Safe Working & Isolation of Electrical Circuits & Equipment: • Electrical Symbols and Drawings • Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 • Overview 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018) • Identification of Electrical and Electronic Components • Safe Isolation procedures single and 3 phase • Electrical Techniques - Use of Cables, Hand Tools • AC Motors • Motor Control Systems • Star Delta Starting • Further work involving interpretation of electrical drawings, permits to work, wiring of single phase electrical circuits, use of test equipment and procedures to include. • Continuity Test. • Polarity Test. • Insulation Test. • Earth loop impedance Test. • RCD Test • Unit Registration with EAL Awarding Body
