About the course

This is an intermediate level course, perfect for learners who have completed Level 1 plumbing qualification and wish to progress their skills. If you have experience in plumbing but no formal qualifications, you can be considered for the course following a meeting with our industry expert tutors. This qualification is 50% practical and 50% theory. The qualification will cover, among other skills, the cutting and soldering of copper pipes, using accurate measuring skills and the correct use of compression joints to install pipework. You will also be removing and replacing radiators, connecting pipework to appliances and giving estimations of materials. Use and safe/correct use of hand/power tools and health and safety training will also be given. Learners on the course who gain an Apprenticeship role may be able to transfer the qualifications to the achievement of the Apprenticeship.

Entry Requirements

This is a Level 2 plumbing course aimed at learners who have completed a Level 1 plumbing course and wish to progress to the next level of course. Consideration will be given to applicants who have existing plumbing experience but who have not achieved a Level 1 plumbing qualification.

Assessment

You will be assessed via completion of practically assessed projects within the workshop environment and completion of a portfolio of evidence highlighting a log of the practical work you have completed and online examinations.

Careers & Progression

This course will prepare you for progression to a Level 3 plumbing qualification or an Apprenticeship. On successful completion of the course and further study, typical careers include architecture, quantity surveyor and a range of roles in the construction industry.
