About the course

This short course introduces the professional skills and behaviour required to rehearse, develop, and perform musical material as a band. You will have the opportunity to form a band and develop musical material with other aspiring musicians, eventually recording your material in our college studio.

You will need to be able to play an instrument in order to make the most out of this course. You do not need to have 'mastered' your instrument, but you need to be able to competently learn and play songs within a short timeframe.

This is an excellent choice if you are looking to start on one of our music programmes at college, as it gives you an insight into the resources we have, what our lessons look like, and it also gives you a chance to meet future course mates.

Careers & Progression

This program is ideal for anyone interested in studying music performance beyond school, whether you are currently studying GCSE, Btec, or RSL music, or if you are looking to develop music from ‘just a hobby’. This could also be of interest to you if you are simply looking to join your first band.
