About the course

As part of the L4 Associate Project Manager, you will work towards completing the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) as well as, building your knowledge, skills and behaviours as a Project Manager. Whilst studying the PMQ qualification you will cover the following learning areas: Organisations and Projects Structure, Project Life Cycles, Situational Context of projects, Communication, Principles of Leadership and Teamwork, Planning for Success, Project Scope Management, Schedule and resource optimisation, Project Procurement, Risk and Issue Management in context Quality in project.

Throughout your time on-programme, you will work towards evidencing your knowledge, skills and behaviours within a showcase portfolio which will be independently assessed by an assessor from NCFE.

Entry Requirements

Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics and prior experience in project management is preferred but not essential.

Assessment

The Project Management Qualification is assessed through examination which must be passed in order to progress with the Apprenticeship. The Apprenticeship is End Point assessed, which means that the on-programme learning is formatively supported and collated by the development of on programme knowledge, skills and behaviours but final assessment decisions are made independently by an externally-appointed expert in the field. The End Point Assessment is available after 12 months of being on programme (at a minimum) and successfully passing the PMQ exam and focuses on: Presentation and Questioning and a Professional Discussion underpinned by the Summative Portfolio - showcasing their best evidence.

Careers & Progression

This Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship naturally leads into the Level 6 Project Controls Professional Apprenticeship, as well as Level 6 Chartered Manager or APM Project Professional Qualification. Additionally, leadership and management qualifications are genuine progression pathways. This Apprenticeship can lead into the following careers: Associate Project Manager and Project Manager.
