About the course
This course is ideal for candidates who may have some knowledge of Mechanical Engineering already and wish to work in higher paid roles. The full time HND fully prepares learners for progression on to a degree whilst enhancing their profile for careers in engineering. Mechanical Engineering is specifically concerned with design, development, installation, operation and maintenance of just about anything that has moveable parts. As a result, there are job opportunities for mechanical engineers in practically every field of work, transport (including aerospace), health, defence, manufacturing, entertainment, finance, publishing, building, design and research to name but a few. The standard tuition fee rate for 2020/21 for Home and EU students is £9000. Part-time the standard tuition fee is £4000. Entry Requirements
Our typical offer is 104-112 UCAS points. A-Levels, pass in Mathematics and a Science or Technology-based subject. Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (1080) in an Engineering subject, grade DMM. Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma (540) in an Engineering subject, grade D*D. Access to HE Diploma in Engineering, grade pass with a minimum score of 106 UCAS points. We are unable to accept international applications for this course. We operate a flexible admissions policy and treat everyone as an individual which means that we will take into consideration your educational achievements, predicted grades (where applicable), and industry experience.

Assessment
Assessments take place throughout the year, and are typically in the form written essay-style assignments and exams. The use of seminar-produced portfolios and practical laboratory based submissions are also used in some modules.
Careers & Progression
On successful completion of this course learners may progress to a Degree Apprenticeships or a range of other Degree courses. Careers that this course may lead to include Manufacturing Engineer, Design Engineer, Project Engineer and Stress Engineer where learners are likely to earn in the region of £31,000 per year.
