About the course
Demonstrate your understanding of and competency in digital literacy that organisations class as essential work skills. To achieve the qualification, you are required to complete 4 mandatory units, these include using and managing information, keeping yourself and others safe when using digital devices, communicating and collaborating online and career development. The course provides you with various opportunities to acquire a number of practical skills and meet the qualifiaction requirements of understanding how to protect devices and data, communiate socially and professionally using technology, apply digital skills in personal and business situations and use digital resources to facilitate your own career progression aims. You will be required to create a portfolio of work that meets the qualification standards and the portfolio willl be completed within set assessment times in class. Having this qualification allows you to show an employer that not only are you digitally literate but that you would be able to perform various organisational responsibilities, whilst ensuring the organisation and its data are secure in accordance with GDPR.

Entry Requirements
Learners will be required to attend an interview and they should have a qualification at level 1 preferably in ICT
Modules
To achieve this qualification the learner must complete 4 mandatory units. The units are, Unit 1 - Using and managing information, Unit 2 - Keeping yourself and others safe when using digital devices, Unit 3 - Communicating and collaborating, Unit 4 - Digital career development
Assessment
Assessment for this qualification will have all evidence internal assessed and externally quality assured. Submitted evidence will be in the form of a portfolio containing learner work to demonstrate competence and achievement. Evidence can be gathered through employment, work experience, volunteering or as part of simulated exercises. Evidence types will include observations, annotated screenshots, accurately referenced information in assignments and/or work products, case studies and questioning, blogs in a business context, research, communication and/or collaborate, photos, videos and personal development plan.
Careers & Progression
This qualifications offers progression opportunities into Employment, Access to Higher Education courses (HE) and Apprenticeships in ICT, due to the fact that the digital skills you will learn are transferable to other learning and employment areas
