About the course

This course is aimed at practicing electricians, electrical technicians, and engineers with experience of electrical installations, and associated inspection and testing and giving them the necessary training to upskill their existing skills to install EESS.
The programme has been designed to meet the requirements of dedicated electrical energy storage systems (EESS) in accordance with the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems and the MCS Battery Standard MIS 3012.  

Candidates wishing to attend this course must hold the qualifications listed below.

N/SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (Buildings and Structures)

or

equivalent earlier certification that includes Inspection & Testing

or

a recognised Part P competence certification that includes Inspection & Testing and a BS 7671: 2018 Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition) qualification.

Trainees can also enrol for the course if they meet the requirements of the Electrotechnical Assessment Specification (EAS).

Assessment

Assessments will consist of a combination of practical and theory examinations, carried out within the training period.

To be able to install Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS) in accordance with the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems and the MCS Battery Standard MIS 3012.
