If you’re fascinated by human behaviour and emotion, our BSc (Hons) Behavioural Sciences course is the right choice for you.This degree will allow you to study the complementary disciplines of Psychology, Sociology and Criminology, giving you a detailed and balanced knowledge of the fascinating subject of human behaviour. As part of this degree you will learn how to analyse data effectively, write concise reports and give engaging presentations. This honours degree in Behavioural Sciences is tremendously flexible, allowing the opportunity to explore human behaviour from a range of perspectives.During this course you will be able to visit professional working environments or go on trips relevant to your modules. Years 1, 2 and 3 (delivered at Burnley College): The standard full time tuition fee rate for this course in 2023/24 for UK students is £9000 per year. The standard full time tuition fee for the Foundation year for this course in 2023/24 is £6000.
Entry Requirements
The entry requirement for this course, you will need at least two A Levels and a GCSE Maths and English at grade C. Our offers usually require a minimum of 96 UCAS points. Applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements for the three-year undergraduate programme, or those who do not feel fully prepared for a degree course, can apply for a four-year programme including a Foundation Year. As a Foundation Entry student you will complete a year of additional study at the beginning of your degree to provide you with the study skills, self-confidence and an academic foundation to succeed. Foundation Year modules are Foundation Year, Preparing for Success: Knowledge and Creativity; Preparing for Success: Self-Development and Responsibility; Inquiry-Based Learning; Foundations of Psychology.
Modules
During the first year you will develop a strong background through core modules that cover cognitive, biological, developmental, and social and personality psychology. You will also look at research methods, making sense of society and be introduced to cross-disciplinary psychology. As you enter the second year, you will be increasingly led by your own interests, You will explore the four main areas of Behavioural Sciences – Biopsychology, Developmental Psychology, Conceptual and Historical Issues in Psychology and Personality and Individual Differences. In the final year, you will tailor your degree still further by taking more specialised options alongside the last core module, Social Psychology, before writing your dissertation.
Assessment
The balance of assessment will vary depending on the modules undertaken but will include coursework, written exams and practical tests.

Our BSc (Hons) Behavioural Sciences programme will help prepare you for a range of career possibilities, especially those within human behaviour, such as: civil service, NHS, police force, sports organisations, occupational psychology, sports psychology.
