About the course

This course allows you to gain an understanding of prevalent mental health problems and how to work or interact with individuals with them.
You will have the opportunity to learn what mental health is, including learning to understand stress, anxiety and phobias. Focus will also be on conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
The curriculum also covers: Understanding Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), dementia and eating disorders along with, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Assessment

For each unit, a set of knowledge questions are issued as the formal assessment which will be completed through the online learning platform. There is the option to complete written assessments on paper if required. You will receive written feedback from our expert tutor and will need to pass all units and ensure your answers to the questions meet the required assessment criteria.

Careers & Progression

Progression from this Level 2 course could be to a Children and Young People's Mental Health course or a level 2 Counselling skills course. There is also opportunity to progress to a Children and Young People's course or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools course.
