I wanted to work while I learn and Themis offered a great opportunity with this Apprenticeship.

Thomas decided an Apprenticeship was the best route for him after having discussions with Tutors following his studies at Unity College. They inspired him with the multiple pathways that an Apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery has to offer.

His future career had a huge step forward when he reached the national finals of the renowned Worldskills competition, identifyng him as one of the best young carpenters in the UK, winning a highly commeded award.

Thomas’ preparation and determination to learn more has allowed him to acquire advanced skills including woking with complex timber components and complex roof structures.

His employer, Craig Kershaw Joiners and Builders, recognise his organised and efficient nature and as a result, has allowed Thomas the independence to be trusted to cover all aspects of work, far beyond the minimum expected requirements.
