BECOME A TEACHER

1. The Basics

To teach you’ll need excellent Maths and English, so if you need your GCSEs, we’ll help you get them.

2. The next step

You could study for an Early Years Practitioner Certificate, building up your experience with study and on a specially selected work placement.

3. University and Beyond

Now it’s time to specialise or expand. The variety of careers available is only limited by your passion to learn more.

I have a career goal in mind – how do I get there? 

Our National Careers Service advisors can give you independent careers guidance to help you plan your route to success. They are available for individual appointments, face to face or over the phone. Are my qualifications still relevant? 

Whether you left education five years ago or 15 years ago or 25 years ago, we would still like to know what qualifications you achieved, this can include courses you have completed at work, too. Our Student Services team are on hand to give advice and guidance on what qualifications and experience you can use to access courses: call them on 01282 733373 or email s.services@burnley.ac.uk

How can I pay for my course?

Most courses start in September and January however there are some courses with start dates all year round.
