Burnley College continues to assert its position as a sector-leading institution by hosting a pivotal meeting of the Construction Development Alliance (CDA).
This strategic gathering brought together industry professionals from legal, surveying, and architectural sectors to bridge the gap between professional industry regulations and next-generation vocational training.
T Level Design, Surveying & Planning for Construction students Rory Condren and Lewis Barnes represented Burnley College in a dynamic forum at the event.
They highlighted the valuable role that industry-aligned training plays in supporting skilled trades, as well as sharing how the work placements they undertake will help to shape their future career ambitions.
Lewis explained:
“I’d love to progress into a Degree Apprenticeship in Quantitative Surveying.
“I really enjoy getting to use a mix of technical and artistic skills to create designs that will have a long-term positive impact on society.”
Rory added:
“I’m planning to start my own surveying company.
“I’ll be able to use the eye for innovation, collaboration and creative expression that my T Level course has allowed me to develop to build strong relationships with my clientele.”
Stephen Dobney, Curriculum Manager in Construction & Engineering, reflected:
“These sessions have been a fantastic opportunity for professional development for both our T Level learners and the companies that we’ve been fortunate enough to have join us at Burnley College.
“It’s a pleasure to host the Construction Development Alliance and we look forward to seeing this partnership continue to go from strength to strength in the future.”
Founded by Reid Lewis, Construction & Facilities Management at Hawthorn Estates, the CDA invites construction professionals – from solicitors and insurers to site surveyors and architects – to network and discuss the latest changes to industry regulations.
