Gifted Sport and Uniformed Public Services students are celebrating amazing podium finishes at this year’s Association of Colleges (AoC) College Fitness Games.
Twins Billy and Alfie Hilton, who study Uniformed Public Services, 17, from Rossendale, both former students at Alder Grange School and James Slater, 17, from Burnley, a former student at Unity College, secured incredible 1st and 2nd place finishes respectively in the men’s competition, hosted at Forge Fitness in Rotherham.
All of the athletes who competed excelled in the face of tough competition, with the Burnley College team scoring 5th and 8th place in the women’s competition and further 12th, 13th and 15th place finishes on the men’s leaderboard.
The College Fitness Games invites the fittest Further Education students from across the UK to test their endurance, resilience and teamwork skills through a series of demanding physical challenges.
The event also aims to celebrate and promote the importance of movement, community and healthy competition to young people’s wellbeing.
