GALLERY: Themis Careers Event Sees Record-Breaking Number of Attendees

The Themis Apprenticeship Careers Event returned to Burnley College bigger and better than ever this year, welcoming more than 600 future apprentices eager to showcase their skills, motivation and ambition to over 30 industry-leading employers.

The event drew praise from attendees for the wide array of sectors and organisations represented – from small, family-run businesses to global aerospace giants.

Burnley College is extremely grateful to the employers who join us each year to offer their expertise to the next generation of local talent.

Many were supported this year by current Themis apprentices, who shared stories of the incredible impact that they’re already having in the workplace.

Lauren Goddard, People Partner at Rolls-Royce Barnoldswick, commended the unique skillset that advanced level apprentices have brought into their workshops:

“The biggest benefit of apprenticeships, and especially degree apprenticeships, from our perspective is that we’re able to recruit based on our business needs and fill skills gaps with new talent.

“At Rolls-Royce we require niche abilities such as handling non-destructive testing (NDT), which is an area where our degree-level apprentices shine.

“This event is a fantastic opportunity to meet people who might not have considered apprenticeships before, but who have real value to add.”

Neil Burrows, Director of Skills and Innovation at Burnley College, was similarly impressed by the commitment and passion shown by attendees at this year’s event:

“The Themis Apprenticeship Careers Event underscores the vital importance of our mission. This year it showcased remarkable enthusiasm, with an unprecedented number of ambitious young individuals engaging in thoughtful discussions about their futures and demonstrating a readiness to launch their careers.

“The outlook for Burnley is exceptionally bright. For those exploring apprenticeships, we encourage you to connect with Themis – one conversation could be life-changing.”
