About the course

The Principles of Cyber Security course aims to develop core knowledge of cyber security and the impact to individuals, businesses and society taking into account the legal and ethical considerations of cyber security threats. It provides learners with knowledge and understanding of how to recognise threats and put in place measures to reduce these whilst working as a team.

To achieve the qualification, learners must successfully complete the mandatory 6 units through internally assessed and externally quality assured portfolio of evidence.

Assessment

On this course, you will be regularly assessed and will complete questions to demonstrate your acquired knowledge and skills. Knowledge questions are issued as the formal assessment for each unit and will be completed through your online learning platform. For each unit, clear deadlines are provided to ensure timely completion of your course. You will receive feedback on each unit from your expert tutor, and you will need to pass all 5 units of the course and ensure your answers to the questions meet the required assessment criteria.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners can progress to further studies in this subject area. The skills acquired also support career opportunities in IT-related roles, providing a stepping stone into the digital industry.
