About the course

Year 10 & 11 Applications. Course runs for 1 week (10:00-3:00pm) on Saturday. 

Do you love performing? Telling stories? Stepping into character and bringing ideas to life?

This one-day intensive Acting (Stage & Screen) experience is designed for students in Years 10 and 11 who are passionate about acting and want to explore what it is like to train as a performer at Burnley College. Across the day, you will take part in a series of practical workshops exploring acting for stage, script work, devising, and screen performance, led by our experienced Acting tutors.

You will develop your performance skills, confidence and creativity through a range of engaging practical sessions, while gaining an insight into the techniques and expectations of actor training at Burnley College. The day is designed to help you build your knowledge, skills and understanding in preparation for progression onto an Acting or Performing Arts course.

You will also have the opportunity to work with other aspiring performers, explore our industry-standard facilities, and experience what it is like to train within our vibrant and creative department.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this taster programme. This course is open to students in Years 10 and 11 with an interest in acting and performance.

Assessment

There is no formal assessment on this programme. However, you will receive ongoing practical feedback from our tutors throughout the day to support your development in acting, performance and communication skills.

This will help prepare you for practical training and assessment on Level 1–3 Acting and Performing Arts courses at Burnley College.

Careers & Progression

This course will help you develop the core performance skills needed for progression onto a Level 1, 2 or 3 course in Acting (Stage & Screen) or Performing Arts at Burnley College.

It is also a great opportunity to meet like-minded young performers, build confidence, and gain a clearer understanding of the training and progression routes available within the performing arts industry.
