About the course

Gain the skills and knowledge to kickstart your career in the Sales, Marketing and Procurement sector. This qualification will give you the knowledge and understanding across a broad range of issues relevant to the finance sector.

On this course you will:

  • Learn about the purpose of marketing
  • Learn what the role of marketing is as a management process, its importance, market type and reach
  • Develop an understanding of the key differences between consumers and customers
  • Undertake a substantial industry placement. You will complete a minimum of 315 hours of placement with an employer to develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours.

Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at Grade 5 or above including English and Mathematics or a relevant Level 2 qualification.

Modules

    In your first year, you will focus on the foundations of marketing, sales and business skills. You’ll cover topics such as: 

      • Market research and competitor analysis 
      • Planning marketing strategies 
      • Sustainability and green business practices 
      • Understanding business laws and project management 

    In the second year, you will focus on developing industry-level marketing knowledge and skills. You’ll cover topics such as: 

      • Designing and delivering real or mock marketing campaigns 
      • Analysing data to evaluate how successful a campaign is 
      • Presenting ideas to employers or clients 

     

    In addition to the core content, you will also complete the occupation-specific content - Marketing Assistant (Multi-Channel) 

      

    Assessment

    The core content is assessed through examinations and an employer-set project. The Occupational Specialism is assessed through an examined project that is created in conjunction with marketing employers.
