About the course
The introduction to sewing course is recommended prior to this level 1, especially if your sewing skills are undeveloped. This course gives you the opportunity to extend your basic practical dressmaking skills culminating in a relatively simple but personalised final outcome. Skills will be tested and developed during the course, learning about the fabrics you use and how to sew them effectively. Some pattern cutting is also encouraged during the course and you will expand your sewing skills and techniques completing sampling which includes basic pattern drafting techniques alongside building some knowledge of: planning marking-up cutting stitching and finishing. The level 2 Dressmaking course is available to those wishing to progress their skills and knowledge.
